    nbn® 100 plans FAQs

    How fast is nbn® 100?

The name is a bit of a clue: nbn® 100 offers a download speed of up to 100 Mbps and an upload speed of up to 20 or 40 Mbps. That’s fast enough for a household of up to four or five people to download, stream and game on different devices simultaneously. If that sounds like something your household needs, get in touch to connect today.

    What does nbn® 100/20 mean?

nbn® 100/20 refers to the download and upload speed of the nbn® Home Fast tier. Our nbn® 100 plan offers up to 100 Mbps of download speed supported by 20 Mbps of upload speed. Want speeds like these? Contact us today to connect.

Is 100 Mbps good for 4K streaming?

Even with multiple users all streaming 4K on separate devices simultaneously, 100 Mbps is plenty for 4K streaming. As an example, to watch Netflix in high definition, you need at least 5 Mbps and to watch in 4K/Ultra HD, you need just 15 Mbps.

Is nbn® 100 good for gaming?

Some gamers will tell you that you need 250 Mbps or even 1000 Mbps for serious gaming, but that’s just not true. In fact, nbn® 100 is more than fast enough for most online gamers. If you experience major issues at this speed, first check your hardware (modem and cables) to find the cause of any latency.

Why is nbn® limited to 100 Mbps?

If your property uses an FTTC or FTTN connection that relies on older copper wires, you may find that your nbn® speeds are limited to 100 Mbps. But with our super reliable Home Fast plan, you’ll find that being limited to 100 Mbps is no hardship. The best nbn® 100 plans are speedy enough for a household of up to four or five people who game, stream and download.

    nbn® 100 upload speed and nbn® 100 download speed

Our Home Fast nbn® 100 plan offers maximum download speeds of up to 100 Mbps and 20 Mbps of upload speed. That should allow four to five people to stream, game and download simultaneously without lag or buffering. Sound good? Contact us to connect to our Home Fast plan today.

    Can I get faster than nbn® 100?

For faster nbn® than 100 Mbps, you will need a fibre to the premises (FTTP) connection. If your premises are already connected to FTTC or FTTN and you’re eligible for the upgrade (you can check that here), the process is simple.

Just place an order with us for one of the three fastest speed tiers – that includes the 100, 250 and 1000 Mbps plans – and NBN Co will arrange for a technician to connect your property.
